Exciting News: Dos Perros Introduces a Gluten-Free Kitchen
With the introduction of our new, updated lunch and dinner menus, Dos Perros has decided to make the leap and eliminate all flour from our kitchen! Which means we have no wheat flour (zip, zilch, nada) in-house anymore. We now use corn masa or rice flour in all our yummy recipes. PLEASE NOTE: We do still carry a few items that contain wheat flour, but all cakes, flour tortillas, and sandwich bread is prepared off-site so the gluten stays out of the kitchen! Please be sure to ask your server for details on your next visit!

The Return of Dos Perros Late Night
It’s been four years since we opened our doors, and in that time we’ve seen Durham revitalize itself into something even more wonderful than when we started. Thanks to places like the Durham Performing Arts Center and local restaurants and bars like Loaf, Alley 26, Bull City Burgers and Brewery and many, many others, the area around Dos Perros is even more than before somewhere that we are proud to call home. That’s why, coupled with requests from long-time regulars and our fabulous bar staff, we are proud to reopen for late night (Fridays and Saturdays from 10 to midnight) starting Friday, September 6th. We will have a limited menu that we are still putting the final touches on, and of course our full Margarita, Beer, Wine and Cocktails lists available for consumption. So whether you’re out at the DPAC, the Carolina Theatre, or just want to unwind with an award-winning margarita, Dos Perros will have its doors open for you a little later.
Thanks Food Lovers! Voted Best Mexican Restaurant and Best Guacamole in the Triangle by The Independent Readers!
Dos Perros is unlike anything else in the Triangle. We offer fresh and truly authentic Mexican cuisine, an extensive craft beer list, carefully chosen wines, and award-winning cocktails. Our house-made aguas frescas (watermelon, hibiscus, and more) are delicious by themselves or in several of our innovative cocktails. And we serve it all in a warm but upscale environment. And for groups of up to 50, we offer a warm, cozy, downstairs private dining room, perfect for private parties. Our 60″ high-definition flat screen adds to the possibilities; think business meetings or presentations, movie night, or that big game. Ideally located downtown, we’re just a couple-minute walk from the Durham Performing Arts Center, making us a popular pre- or post-performance restaurant destination.

What Our Customers Are Saying…
“Word on the street is that your “Cochinita Pibil” entrée is the most authentic Mexican braise in town. The preparation and presentation of the rice and pinto beans that accompany the pork shows the type of restraint that makes a “good” dish “great”. Kudos to whoever’s in charge of the kitchen for making that call and proving yet again that fine dining and authentic Mexican food can exist in the right hands. Looking forward to Taco Mondays!!”
“…This is what I want from a meal out. Friendly people, quick service, and food so good I think I teared up at one point while eating the cake. It is relatively easy to make one really tasty thing, the difficult part is making three tasty things on one plate, and having them add up to greatness.”
“Currently my favorite restaurant in the Triangle. The food quality is terrific. Dishes have a homecooked taste but you see professional craft behind it. Great selection of beers and tequila. My favorite entré is the mahimahi-encrusted with yuca flour. Sometimes they have a meat broth soup I can’t resist in cold days. The sweet empanadas or the tres leches cake are divine. The bar’s late night menu saved me several times.”
“Always great, gourmet, Mexican food, learning something new about real cuisine everytime we eat there, which is weekly now. The staff, from the water servers to the actual servers, to the bartenders, cooks, and the host(s), are terrific. Also a great place for beer people — some of the best beers around.”
